The Samsung Galaxy R(Galaxy Z) has a 4.2” inch SC-LCD capacitive touch screen display at an resolution of 480*800 pixels. Whereas the original Galaxy S2 has 4.27” inch Super AMOLED display (which is better compared to R).

The body is all plastic except for the back battery panel which is metal. The phone feel solid on hands and it has the appeal and style to match with all the phones out there. There is no physical QWERTY keyboard. There is a physical menu button on the front side and other two buttons are touch sensitive. The phone do have all the sensors like, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Accelerometer for UI auto-rotate and also has the Gyroscope sensor for better touch response.

The phone runs the latest Android OS v2.3 Gingerbread supported by a Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and ULP GeForce GPU, Tegra 2 AP20H chipset for giving you the ultimate smartphone gaming experience. Galaxy R has 1GB RAM, 2GB ROM, 8GB internal memory and memory can be further expanded upto 32GB using microSD card.

The Galaxy R features a 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash. The camera features geo-tagging, smile detection and can record 720p videos @30fps.

It also has a secondary camera for video calling. Other features include; 3G, EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, Samsung SNS integration, Flash support on websites and FM radio with RDS. The phone supports Full-HD video playback and also has a document editor.
